RWZCSA - 2024 Outdoor Year End Tournament 🏆
2024-06-142024 Outdoor Tournament is this weekend and wraps up a great and enjoyable season. We hope to see you all out for this exciting event!
On behalf of West Zone Soccer, we hope you have enjoyed the soccer season. The finale of the season starts tonight, Friday June 14 and ends tomorrow Saturday June 14 with the season-ending soccer tournament.
The soccer tournament is a great way to celebrate the end of the soccer season. We hope that all the players can attend and be recognized for their achievements. They have experienced and learned so much over the season and we should all be proud of them. As a league, we always hope that we have introduced the young players to the best of what soccer offers; friendship, respect, good sporting behaviours, teamwork, skill development and fun.
Schedules
Can be found here and all teams will have at least 2 games:
Regina West Zone Community Soccer Association : Powered by GOALLINE (rwzcsa.ca)
Game timings and locations are on the schedule and times differ from the regular season. Please do your best to arrive at a reasonable time before your games so we can start at the scheduled time.
Equipment
-Teams will be returning equipment tomorrow
-3-8U teams need to return their jerseys (see note below)
Wind Up BBQ/Conession 10am - 4pm
-Everyone (parents, players, coaches, referees, etc.) is invited to St. Jerome School to celebrate the seasons end with a BBQ.
-Players receive a hotdog, chips and a drink.
-After all the equipment is returned the team will receive a medallion or gift card.
-Food will stop being served about 3:30.
-Coaches will recieve tickets for the team to give to the players
Tim Hortons Age groups (3Yr, 4Yr, 6U, 8U):
-Games can end in ties
-Game timings are: ten-minute warm-up, and two twenty-minute halves with a five minute break.
-As a condition of our sponsorship, Tim Horton’s requires us to use the Timbits Jerseys for multiple years. Therefore all 3 & Under, 4 & Under, 6U and 8U jerseys must be retrieved from players and returned with the team soccer equipment.
-Players should bring a t-shirt they can change into and the coach will collect the Timbits jerseys after the last game. The return of the Timbits jerseys is really important as it will affect next year’s teams.
Age Groups 10-18U
-Teams play a bracketed A-side and B-side tournament
-Game timings are 2 twenty minute halves with a five minute break.
-If the game remains tied, teams will move to overtime (1 five minute golden goal overtime i.e. first goal wins)
-If still tied teams will move to a shoot-out
Although we are not offering an 18U team we do have some 18U players playing on North Zone teams. We wish those teams much success and lots of fun.
Bad Weather
Things are looking promising, but if a game needs to be shortened and there is no winner proceed to overtime. If you don't have time for an overtime or if one side of the field is unplayable, proceed directly to a shootout. Worst case, flip a coin to determine a winner. (This is very rarely needed). Sadly, if a game is cancelled this weekend we will be unable to reschedule it.
Thank You for Your Support
Thank you, parents, for your commitment over the season to be there for your children. To be actively involved in your child's activities, as a supportive and encouraging parent on the sideline, or as a team coach out there on the pitch, teaching the game and the important life lessons associated with sport, is one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.

Please consider registering for Indoor soccer which plays from October to March. We have opened online registration temporarily and provided a discount during this weekend. You can register now until the end of Sunday here (online only):

Referees
We are always looking for referees to officiate our games. We provide training, mentoring, equipment and the opportunity to learn new skills and responsibilities. It is a great way to make some good money as well. If you are interested please contact us.
Have a great weekend and good luck!
